Nursemaid's Elbow

Well we've had our first big accident w/ Hunter. It really wasn't that big but Josh sure does feel bad. Saturday (25th) we had some friends over and we were playing Settlers of Catan. Well there are lots of parts to the game and Hunter swiped the table and knoced some off. (It wasn't his first time doing it) and Josh went to grab him and when he did he got his arm and then we heard 2 loud pops. Hunter hadn't had a nap all day and so he was really tired and we weren't positive that it was dislocated cuz there wasn't any swelling or anything he just didn't want to move it. We thought Josh just might have grabbed a little too hard. So he fell asleep and slept for 3 hours and when he woke up he still wouldn't move it. We took him to St. Luke's Urgent Care and his elbow was dislocated also called nursemaid's elbow. They popped it back into place and he's doing great. He was much happier about 10 min after it was done. Today he has just been running around and playing like a normal little boy. Josh feels horrible about it and we know we need to be a little more careful in how we grab him. We are so happy he is back to normal and his happy little self.

Poor Hunter. Something similar happened to my niece and bro-in-law a few years back. It was her arm though. We were just finishing up a family trip and had to race home to find an urgent care. It all works out ok in the end though...

I did this same thing to Kendra when we were little. Her arm turned purple though and was swollen. It was crazy.
